Twin Span closed eastbound due to overturned 18-wheeler, 2 injured
The Twin Span bridge was closed Friday morning in the eastbound direction due to an overturned 18-wheeler.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. State police told WDSU that the tanker is leaking fuel and the bridge will be closed for an extended period of time. According to New Orleans EMS, two people were taken to the trauma center. Drivers should take U.S. 90 or the Causeway Bridge until further notice.

Woman Receives Gun Shot, Is Later Involved in Car Accident En Route to Hospital
Police are investigating the case of a local woman who suffered a gunshot injury to her thigh on Thursday in New Orleans East on 14700 Chef Menteur Hwy.
According to the police report, a civilian in a private vehicle was transporting the victim to the hospital when a car accident subsequently ensued.
